“Don't know how to title this.”

For a few dollars more I'd stay somewhere else. I was really going to cheap but also dog friendly as we were traveling with our dog. So many little things wrong with the hotel that it seems poorly managed but has potential. The front desk staff wasn't overly friendly or welcoming. A second staff was just sitting in a lobby car with his dog which I thought was a little weird. Our hotel was near a side entrance (which I requested) but we were told upon check in that that door lock doesn't work so we had to use the front door anyways. The trash outside the side door was full to the brim upon arrival and it was overflowing by the time we left two days later. Not very hard to empty a trash bin. The front desk agent who checked us in was "hanging out" in the hallway later that night (while the front desk was unattended) with a friend who was staying in a room with two dogs a couple doors down from us. These yorkies were not on a leash and just roaming the hall and then actually attacked our dog (who was on a leash) while we were trying to get into our room. While trying to relax in our room you could just hear constant barking from the yorkies in the hallway. The breakfast was not terrible the first day. The second morning we went to breakfast at least a half hour before it was supposed to end but they were basically out of food. They didn't restock anything. As for the room itself, it wasn't terrible. It was definitely tiny but I expected that for the price. It was clean overall. We did have one really dingy yellow pillow case which stuck out like a sore thumb on the bed with the other three white pillows. Found one long brown hair on the bathtub. The towels left white fuzzies all over whenever you wiped your hands or face so I don't know if they were new and never washed before or if they were old and falling apart. The room is not what turned me off from staying here again, it was definitely the service and the lack of caring from staff to give us a pleasant stay. I know everything I mentioned was minor but other hotels understand that the minor stuff matters so I'll pay $10 extra and go there.
