“Thin walls, lack of professionalism, and poor coffee:”

  , Columbus Oh
We stayed there for three days and experienced a few problems: our room was extremely noisy. We could hear everything that was going on in the rooms next to ours. Our bathroom smelled like an ash tray because cigarette smoke from other rooms would spread throughout the rooms next to them. We asked for a new room, but ended up getting a room on ground level facing the parking lot because they told us they had been fully booked - despite an almost empty parking lot. There overall professionalism when interacting with guests needs some serious refinement. They treated us like we were a bother. It is their genuine prerogative to consider guests a pain, but they should never show their disrespect, i.e. they should never sigh, shake their heads or seem on edge and look like they are seriously bugged when guests have concerns or questions.Other than that, there were a few minor issues, e.g. there was no remote control in our rooom, and when we asked for one, it did not work properly. The continental breakfast would need some improvement. The coffee pushed the limits of awfulness, but we had expected that.I would not recommend a stay at this Microtel, if they do not improve significantly. Even if it is not the most expensive place in town, they should at least try to be professional and make their guests' stay enjoyable. Quite frankly, I did not see much professionalism, but what bothered me most was the construction of this hotel: the walls are very thin. Hence, when it comes to acoustic (and heat) insulation, this place is beneath contempt. The quality and duration of your sleep will be mostly at the mercy of the people next door and everything else that might go on in the hall and outside the hotel.
