“Not so pet friendly”

  , Ashburn
I chose Microtel because I found them on a pet friendly hotel search site. Although $25 is really reasonable to pay for my small dog to stay the night, the walls are so paper thin that each time the people on either side of us slammed their door shut, my dog barked. After about the 5th time that the doors slammed shut and the loud kids talked at the top of their lungs, (at 10:30 in the evening), I got a call from the front desk saying that the room next to me (who had kids that were slamming the doors shut every 5 minutes) complained that my dog was barking non stop and that if we could not stop her from barking that we would be asked to leave. I found this extremely annoying as I could hear every conversation the noisy neighbors had, as well as each time one of them left the room. However, our dog was heard barking maybe three times when they were especially loud, we were threatened to be asked to leave. I don't consider that to be very pet friendly. The place itself was decent, not great, but not bad. It was fairly clean, but very small. I found the people at the front desk to be pretty unfriendly also. At just about every hotel that I've stayed in, they usually check to see if your room is ready, should you happen to arrive prior to the offiicial check-in. The woman at the counter did not check, and basically told me I could not check in until after 3, but gave me the key. It's not like they have 500 rooms so it's difficult to keep track of which rooms are ready and which are not.
