“4 night stay.....”

  , Shoreline
I called them directly a couple weeks in advance and got a great rate. Compentent front desk put me at ease from their informality. Like calling an acquaintance. Some people may not like that but I do. Had a first floor room, but I had the option of picking any room/floor my family wanted after we spent one nite and that was a good gesture.. First thing we noticed about the room was the wonderful clean smell, not too strong and very pleasant. Granted I wasn't expecting much 'cause of the price but still , I was pleasantly surprised. The A/C was a bit loud but I think the 2hour time change was more of the culprit when I couldn't sleep that night. Didn't notice it after the first nite. Decent size bathroom. Not big but not tiny, and clean! appreciate that fer sure. One weird thing though, There are no lamps in the room, just these big BRIGHT wall lights that go down the length of the room, so at nite when you're trying to read or whatever while the rest of your party are sleeping. Well, it's all or nothing. I got over it though....My family says the beds were comfy. My opinion would be biased since I can only find comfort in the firmest of beds so I must rely on my families critique. They liked'em! "Comfy,Cozy" If pressed for an opinion, I would say the beds are good and did not impact my sleep. That's a good sign! Location was a huge positive. Most of the hotels i was looking at were right on the hiway. I-35 is super loud with all the semi's and it stays that way 24 hrs. a day. We were far enough away so that at nite it was quiet and peaceful, even with the occasional local traffic, that would quiet down at nite. They have a nice pool too but it's un-heated. So if a cold front moves thru and drops the temp 30+ degrees it can be a sad thing for the kids. We brought our weather from the pacific NW down with us! Anyways, It's a good place to stay and the rates are reasonable. Don't know about in-season prices. I was born and raised in New Braunfels and during the summer you give up the town to others.Let's see...what else. free breakfast with all the goodies one would expect, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toast, muffins, some fruit. texas-shaped waffle iron(a hit with the kids) Close to lots of yummy restaurants. A great homebase while you explore the region during the day Got what I paid for and that's all I can reasonably expect. Went to see 90yr old Mom and family and all is well with them. Life is good... thanks for a pleasant stay Microtel.
