“probably my worst hotel stay ever”

 
I made my reservation on Jan 18. I was not told at that time that I would be charged nor that my reservation was any kind of special rate, nor non-refundable. I was charged on Jan 28 for the room in full. I didn't notice. THe week before my stay I called and advised I only needed the room on Saturday night. I was advised that cancelling the Friday reservation was no problem. I was not advised at that time that my room had been charged, nor that my room was non-refundable. I was advised of this when I checked in on Saturday. The location manager was not available, nor was he available on Sunday. The manager in charge said that looking at account notes, it was clear that you had miscommunicated to me and that a refund shouldn't be an issue. I left. I was then called by the location manager advising that my room would not be refunded. I'm so beyond disgusted with the level of service, terrible communication, inability to resolve an issue, and in the end, the outright lies that your staff told that I will never stay at a microtel again. Further, as an executive at an international marketing company with tens of thousands of independent distributors, I'll be blogging my experiences on facebook.
