“Tacky”

Our room was recently remodeled so it was clean but it was unfinished, no molding around the carpet looked very tacky/unfinished. The heat lamp in the bathroom didn't work the fixture was old and was obviously not changed with the remodel. The TV remote didn't work, nor did the manual buttons on the TV. We did manage to get it turned on but could not change the channel or the volume. We (soccer team) had booked our rooms well in advance and were supposed to be close to each other, but we were stuck up stairs alone while the rest of the team was on the first floor which disappointed our daughter. I did ask to be put down stairs with the rest of the team but the desk clerk said there were no other rooms, so I didn't even bother to complain about the non working TV because it would not have done any good, no other room to move to. The guests on the side of us was an older lady with 5 young children, and the children were allowed to yell, jump, run, bang on the wall until late into the night, when the older women started yelling herself to get them to settle down. Fortunately even though my husband and I were not able to sleep through it , our baby and daughter did. We tolerated everything knowing it was only for one night, and next time we travel with our team we will be sure to make our reservation with our usual hotel chain to ensure that the price we pay indicated the quality we get.
