“Decent for a low budget stay”

  , Charlotte
I was coming up for a quick overnight to visit family, and wanted an inexpensive place. My 7 year old daughter and I stayed here, and got a room with 2 queen beds for $59 per night, so my expectations weren't terribly high. I've stayed in some real dumps over the years, and I wouldn't describe this place as a dump, but it ain't fancy, and not terribly well maintained. The room had stains on the desk from where someone had spilled "something" on it previously. It wiped up easily, but it was still pretty gross. The TV remote didn't work, and you had to hit the Power button about 4 times before the TV would come on. The beds were a little on the hard side, but comfy enough. Carpets looked OK, so did the sheets/pillows. The bathroom was a mess. It was clear they had recently torn out the walls around the shower/tub, and had just thrown up some sheetrock tape and mud quickly, then painted it "sort of " the same color as the other parts of the wall. You could see the tape coming off the wall, and big holes/cracks around the top of the shower enclosure. The water pressure in the shower was like someone with a watering can sprinkling down on your head. The other big complaint I had was how much we could hear the people in the next room. I don't know if they just had particularly loud voices, but we could hear them as if they were in our room with us. The rooms had an adjoining door between them, and the gap at the bottom of the door seemed bigger than it needed to be, so perhaps that was the issue. We had a "sound machine" that makes cricket sounds or "white noise" sounds (I use it for my daughter to mask sound as she sleeps) and I could still here these neighbors quite well. I felt like I was part of their vacation. So, overall, not a horrible place, but it's just a place to flop down and crash for a few hours. Definitely not the worst, but not the best either.
