“Clean lodging, quiet, close to downtown/attractions”

  , Sterling Heights
Stayed with my husband and 5 year old daughter while on a mini vacation. Found the hotel easily and found it to be clean and a decent value considering we were there during the week of the 4th of July. Anytime I check into a hotel I always inspect the entire room very closely, pull back bed covers, move cushions, check under beds, check bathroom, etc, and didn't find any reason to check out before checking in.This hotel is pretty basic and does not offer microwaves/fridge's in the room or any other luxuries (pools, etc...) so if you don't require these things you should be ok for a few nights. The included breakfast was ok for a quick bite, it consisted of waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, some fruit (depending on day/availability), yogurt, coffee and juice. There is a Bob Evans just around the corner if you prefer eggs, etc.... The Wi-FI worked great, no complaints there. Rooms must be in process of upgrades because we had an old tube TV sitting atop an armoire near the ceiling and a flat screen TV mounted to the wall.Beds were rather hard but our bodies must have adjusted, or we were too tired from sightseeing after the first day in town, to notice it after the first night. I read in another review before we booked/arrived that there was a weird smell in the hallways and sure enough we found that to be the case when we were there too. I'm not sure but it reminded me of cooking with curry. The room was okay and after a day of two there we barely noticed it or maybe it was no longer present.Overall decent place to lay your head after a day full of activities.
