“I loved the availability of the restaurants that were close...”

I loved the availability of the restaurants that were close by the hotel. If there was a path on the side of the hotel we could have walked to the restaurants. The room was clean when we finally got the room and when we talked to the desk about the connecting door between our room and the room next to us being open and unable to lock, we returned later that night to find it fixed. The refrigerator did not work well and the knob on the inside to turn it up was missing so you needed pliers to do that. We did not remember to let the desk know about that as we were a bit rushed most of the time. My only complaint was we had a reservation and we did get to the hotel before checkin time approx. 1:30 and our room was not ready. We understood that so we packed our luggage back into the car and went to grab a bite to eat and told the desk that we go eat and be back. When we returned our room was still not ready and the desk told us they were just finishing up. About 20 - 30 minutes later he left and told the next person that we were waiting for them to finish our room. We waited and waited and waited and waited and after 45 minutes went by again it was now long past checkin and I had to ask what was happening with the room as I was under the impression it would only be a few minutes and it is now turning into hours.We were in town because of a death in the family and needed to be somewhere else not sitting in the lobby with our luggage. I realize it was Sunday and there is late checkout but you advertise checkin at 3pm and should find a way to stick to what you advertise and at least communicate with your customers on what is happening, not wait for them to ask.
