“NASCAR weekend”

Cleanliness, especially in the pool area is not a top priority for this motel. This is the 2nd time I have stayed here since it is cheap and has an indoor pool. The room was much cleaner this time, but the pool and hot tub looked like they hadn't been cleaned in several weeks. Also, the pool was ice cold. An outdoor pool probably would have been warmer. The jets in the hot tub don't work but they were broken (according to other reviews) long before my first stay a few months ago. Instead of fixing them, they have posted a sign letting you know that the jets are on as high as they will go. (It is actually only the water coming back from the heater/filter room that comes out of one of the "jets" that works.) Last time my room was dirty in several areas. This time It was much cleaner. I had called and requested a fridge right after I booked my room online, but when I checked in I found out that the request wasn't put into the computer. The worker went and checked all the other empty rooms but didn't find one. He did let me put my stuff in the fridge where they keep the breakfast supplies. The next day after some people checked out, they found me one and brought it to my room. That was fine with me since I just wanted my drinks that I was taking to the races to be cold the next day. Also, both trips my non-smoking room and the hallway (both times first floor to the left of the lobby) did not smell smoky at all. Before my first trip I read in some reviews that it was a problem for others. My biggest complaint is that on our second evening when we came back it was raining so there were about a dozen people standing just outside the main entrance smoking. I had my friend with me who uses a wheelchair and the main entrance is the only entrance we could use since the other entrance had stairs. We are also both allergic to smoke. After we made it inside I mentioned something to the guy working the front desk but he didn't seem to care. We were both coughing for at least the next hour.
