“TripAdvisor led us astray”

We stayed at this property because of it's high-ranking on TripAdvisor. We checked in at bedtime with two kids. Staff put us in a room with one bed. We had to lug all of our stuff back down to the lobby to request two beds. Staff was accommodating. Internet didn't function in guest rooms. Hotel staff didn't address the issue. We requested some consideration on the bill. Staff offered a $20 refund, but could not process it because we booked our room through the Microtel website. Staff didn't offer to call corporate for help. Instead we were told to call a 1-800# to resolve ourselves. We called and the corporate office also could not figure out how to process a refund. It was extremely loud in our room throughout the night due to street and restaurant noise. Lobby and hallway carpets were dingy, but the room, including the bathroom, were clean.On the upside, breakfast was awesome and despite the customer service failures, the staff was friendly.
