“Overflow”

The toilet overflowed after the first flush within the first five minutes of arrival. After notifying the front desk i was told he was the only employee working that evening and was told that I would have to take care of this and was given a mop bucket. In addition, his first question was whether i had layed down towels and appeared to get upset when i said I had not. He said when guests do not put down towels that the water runs into the room below. Obviously, this occurs quite frequently. After, taking the mop bucket to our room and laying out towels as instructed. When i attempted to get replacement towels I was told that they were low on regular towels and was given some small pool towels instead. At checkout i mentioned my experience to the manager and he said 'well it happens sometimes' and didnt even bother to apologize. This experience appeared to be caused by the hotel itself running on a skeleton crew at the expense of their guests overall experience.
