“substandard”

If you like a hotel that is dirty, worn out and doesn't have adequate parking, then you've found your hotel. It was odd that they have automatic doors as you walk in to the foyer of the hotel and then manual ones to get into the hotel itself. It makes it harder for the guest to get their luggage inside. The front desk clerk was friendly, after she got done talking with another hotel employee about yet another hotel employee who wasn't doing his job. The hallways were FILTHY, the carpet WORN. There were dents and gashes in the walls that had simply been painted over without being repaired. The whole feel of the hotel was dirty. The room we stayed in was better than the condition of the common areas, but I still had a feeling of filth. A burn hole in the curtains, a crack in the mirror; a common theme of inattentive management. I checked out the fitness room, again dirty equipment, a stained ceiling, no towels and no water. I spoke with an employee and she said the hotel was only 6 years old! it looks like it's at least 50! She said in her opinion, they had built the hotel to quickly and inefficiently. The breakfast was mediocre, although the food hostess was a great gal. The barking dog that woke me up on Sunday morning, was par for the course at the Microtel Quincy. I will never stay at another MIcrotel because of this experience. If you are looking for a nice place to stay here , go to the Town and Country; a much better experience and MUCH MUCH Cleaner.
