“Very run down”

  , Sainte Genevieve
This property is very run down. The employee who checked me in, Michelle, was very friendly and accommodating. I asked if i would switch to a single room and she let me with no problems. When I walked into my room the first thing I laid eyes on was the torn carpet that was poking up by the a c unit and the piece of wood jammed up under it. There goes that first impression. The decor was horrible. My carpet and chair upholstery was maroon yet the curtains and window seat a pumpkin orange color. The only thing my remote would do is change channels. If I wanted to turn the tv volume up or off I needed to do that at the console tv itself. I was excited to see a coffee pot was included until I saw how filthy the appliance was. I couldn't connect to the internet and when I went to tell Michelle i was having problems I encountered another guest at the front desk who had an ice bucket. He told me Michelle was "across the street getting ice." That poor lady came back quickly and was full of apologies for being gone. Bless her heart. I couldn't help but wonder if she was the only employee on duty. I would venture a guess and say yes she was. Michelle said she would reset the internet but this didn't work either. There was a Days Inn across the street. I just sat in my window seat to get their WiFi signal and used that for the rest of my stay. The room I was in was sharing the same wall as the breakfast room. I was woken up early in the morning with cabinets being opened and slammed shut. I would guess someone was setting the breakfast up. Albeit, not quietly. As for the breakfast, there is no way I am pouring orange juice or milk out of a pitcher. I took away a cup of coffee and a banana. The only items that looked safe. I want to stress, the employees did everything they could to make my stay good. However, it appears the management is too cheap to maintain their rooms and equipment. This property needs a serious overhaul. Next time I come through, I'm going with the Days Inn across the street. I know they will have ice and WiFi.
