“Good but not Great!”

We have staying at least 10 times at this Microtel as it is halfway to several family destinations. As with many hotels, it is run by Hindu/East Indian people. They stay in one of the rooms at the hotel and there usually a strong smell of curry in the hallways. Not bad, but still that smell of that spice. The hotel is usually clean and decent. Our recent stay the air conditioner was only working partially. Would not cool the room completely especially when taking showers, but not completely failing. Checked in at midnight and was not going to move rooms because of that. Told the manager the next morning and all he did was apologize. Not a problem, but expected some type of accommodation, but none. Maybe a discount off my bill. Just a smile and an apology. Thanks. Would stay here again, but would NOT accept a substandard room.
