“Needs education in customer service skills...”

When we arrived very late after traveling a long way, we were told that we could not have pets in our previously booked room. I had called to confirm prior to booking that pets were welcome in our room and I was told by a Chelsea that Microtel is pet friendly and yes they were welcome. I was very upset because I was told that we could not stay there with our pets and that they had no other rooms that were pet friendly vacant. I was also told that with our room being on the 3rd floor where the food was is why we could not have them in our room. I didn't know what we were going to do. Finally the lady at the front desk called the manager and the manager said it was ok to keep them in our room since there were no more vacancies there. It was their fault in the first place and I was almost denied my place I booked. This was a horrible experience and feeling. I thought I was going to have to sleep outside in my vehicle with my two dogs. After the manager that she called told her ok, she charged me $10 plus tax for each dogs stay too. I didn't mind paying for the dogs to stay. I wish that she would have called the manager first instead of telling us that that our dogs could not stay there in our room. They were the ones that put us in our room and I did tell them that I had dogs. That is why I booked there. The woman at the front desk was older with blond hair and had a deep harsh voice. I was very nice to her the whole time. She really needs a class in customer curtisy and customer service skills. I was happy to not have to converse with her the next morning when I checked out.
