“Quick weekend trip”

When we first entered the hotel I was concerned of the "cheap-hotel" smell - this did not last long and we were very please with our room. It was small, but for a 2 night stay it was fine - bathroom was very clean and roomy enough for 2 of us. The room was small, but mirrors on both walls helped to open it up. The window seat also helped with a little extra luggage room. We did miss not having a frig, but we made do. The only ice available was down in the lobby, which was a little inconvenient, but not unmanageable. Our only issue was our room key - when we checked in the front desk employee had her daughter helping and our keys were only keyed for one night instead of two nights. We had parked in the back the 2nd night due to the snow that fell, it was closer to the back entrance and elevator. After trying 3 doors and my husband falling on the black ice, we were able to get in the front door. The night attendant was very nice and checked our keys to find out it wasn't keyed right. We were thankful, because after the trouble getting in, we definitely wouldn't have been happy if getting to the room and finding the key didn't work there either. I only wish she could have heard us rattle the back door and saved us walking around and my husband falling.Over all we plan to stay at this Microtel on our next trip to Louisville - well worth the price if we aren't in the room except to sleep.
