“horrible!!!”

  , Anniston
A friend and I stayed at the Microtel in ATL and had a horrible experience. We decided to stay there because it was close to the airport where I had to pick up a family member that was coming home from the Navy. My friend is a teacher and I am a District manager for a restaurant. Now that Ive given a little background, heres what happen... we got into our room and started getting ready to go to dinner. My friend flushes the toilet and it stops up. We removed the lid of the toilet and there was a bag sucked into the drain so we pulled it out. It was at least 7 0unces of heroin!!!! We were both shocked and nervous so we called the desk and she informed us she would be up in a minute....15 minutes later she still wasn't there so we called back and asked her to please hurry and get us out of that room because we was scared whomever left that in the toilet would be back to get it. She informed us that she was the only person working at that time and she would be up when she could, then she hung up on me. When she finally arrived she examined the bag of heroin but said she knew nothing about drugs so she wasn't going to say that's what it was but she would move us anyways if we wanted. We,of course, said yes move us because obviously we where not supposed to get that room next, it was apparently meant for someone else. She then moved us about 4 or 5 rooms down the hall on the same floor. We are not people to cause trouble so we just cooperated. We stayed in the room that night and wasn't able to sleep because we were worried about someone bothering us since we didn't even change floors and anyone could have easily seen where we was moved to. We asked the desk clerk if she was going to call the police and she said no her security guard would handle it when he got in that night. That was the same security guard that i watched all night sitting outside in the parking lot by his car on the phone and eating. The next morning we checked out, PAID, and left. I am not a manager of a hotel or motel but I Know I would have handled the situation in a very different way starting with calling the police. I would also have moved my guest to another floor. When my guest checked out the next day there would also be no charge and honestly with a situation that big I would apologize and beg them to come back. None of ich they did. I travel very often and this was the worst experience Ive ever had. I would not suggest booking a room here at all. Poor cust. serv. and recovery
