“Completely disappointed”

I booked this hotel online and the pictures on the website was not at all the hotel room I stayed at. The first sign of trouble was the clerk texting on her phone and not acknowledging my presence until I said hello. She was not at all friendly and accommodating. We had driven all day and were tired. The room I booked was supposed to be non-smoking. The stench of cigarettes was revolting. We were so tired, we dealt with it. The mattress was so poor you could see the side panels fold and coming out of the sheets. The room was dark and smelled of stale cigarettes. The carpet was dark and I was concerned I might pick up bed bugs. We were so eager to leave that we skipped the poor excuse of a "free breakfast" offered. Moreover, they charged me $15 for my pet even though it did not state it anywhere and I called in advance and the gentleman that answered did not state it either. I will not visit this hotel again. The rate that they charged me was $10 more than the Days Inn (including pet) and the difference was night and day. Why would anyone stay here for more money and less quality of service?
