“Nice staff / Bad amenities”

From our first contact with the staff at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Marianna, 4959 Whitetail Dr, Marianna, FL 32448, we were very pleased with the courteous and professional manner of the staff. Unfortunately, when paying for a hotel and its amenities it goes beyond a friendly staff, you are paying for the room. This is why I would like to tell you about our experience with Microtel Inn & Suites this past week. I spoke with reservations and a very friendly representative who booked us a room for July 3-6, 2014, non-smoking, Jacuzzi tub, microwave and refrigerator. When I told her, it was for our 1-year anniversary she said she would make sure everything was taken care of for the reservation. July 3, 2014, The clerk let us know that the side entry door to the building was broken and a stick was used to prop the door open. After checking in and walking into our room, we both could tell the room smelled musty. We thought that it might be the air conditioner. The next thing we noticed in the room was we did not have the refrigerator and microwave the reservationist confirmed. I went to the front desk and told them about the musty smell and the lack of amenities. The clerk provided me with air freshener, advised she was alone and would have maintenance look into putting the fridge and microwave in the room. However, it would not be until the next day. I told the clerk that would be ok. We went to use the Jacuzzi and noticed that around the jets and drains was a black substance. I took a washcloth and wiped around one of the jets. It turns out it was mold. July 4, 2014, I waited until morning to talk to the front desk since I felt bad already asking about the other issues from the night before. I took the washcloth with me as we were leaving out for the day and showed the Assistant Manager. She said she would fill and bleach the tub to take care of the issue. I told her we would not be back for several hours and that would be fine. Upon returning to the hotel we could smell that the Jacuzzi was been bleached and visually noticed it was cleaned. Also, the fridge and microwave was in the room now. We decided to use the Jacuzzi that night. Upon getting out, we realized that the floor was soaked not due to any splashing but saturated across part of the room. We did not think much of it at first because of the cleaning done earlier in the day. July 6, 2014, Before checking out and returning home, we thought we would use the Jacuzzi again. After fill
