“ok for the price”

desk clerk greeted us at check in was friendly, knowledgeable. we were late for the breakfast the next morning, but the clerk at that time was willing to get out anything we wanted. very friendly.the cleanliness was not great. At first entering the room, it seemed nice. Walls had been repainted, bedding fresh. The bathroom was another story. The sink was very old, small chips in the edge. And it definitely would not have passed a white glove test. Dirt in corners of the counter and the room also when you really looked. The shower was nice, tho, Had plenty of hot water, plenty of pressure. We stayed for 4 nights. Maid was slow to clean from the beginning. And the pop tart box and granola box that was ontop the wardrobe was there the whole time. I left it there just to see if they noticed it. Obviously not. Was still there when we left.The bath towels to me smelled like grease. Almost like they were washed with old kitchen towels. Not all towels smelled that way, but at least 2 of the 4 days my towel did. All in all, not a bad place to stay. It was not dirty and nasty, but still lacked a higher level of cleanliness. Staff was friendly, helpful. Not impressed with the maid service, tho. She took forever to clean. My parents had to wait for 2 hours to get to their room, when they were told 45 min. (they were there early, tho) They did have a safe to use in the room, but it was not big enough for the laptop, so I didn't use it. Still got charged for the use of the safe. My credit card was charged at the beginning of the stay, so I didn't realize I wasn't going to use it. I would stay here again if I needed to, but wouldn't recommend it if you had another choice, as there are many other hotels in the area, even within walking distance.
