“Very low occupancy, but corporate policy violates serving customer well.”

We are priceline users. We stay with priceline many nights per year and for many years. This was the first time we have had the issue of occupancy. We know that with priceline we are guaranteed sleeping room for 2. Normally though when hotels use priceline to book rooms, they have many empty rooms. Hotels are usually more than willling to give us a one or two bed room based on our needs assuming they have the space (which is almost a given when they used priceline). This hotel would not. Their "single rooms" that priceline users get is tiny. It really is "micro." There was one bed - the tiniest queen bed I have ever seen and basically no floor space. There was no chair or anywhere for anyone to sleep other than the tiny bed. The hotel was running at low occupancy and had plenty of double rooms available, but their policies prohibited them moving us (parents and two children) to a double room. Very frustrating! If the hotel is nearly full, I totally understand that the priceline people get the leftovers. This hotel had plenty of space and just didn't want to move us. Also as my husband was helping the kids look for a missing doll shoe on our last morning, he came across an open junction box just under the edge of the air conditioning unit in our room! These were wires with wire nuts on them not inside a box. Thankfully the kids hadn't looked for the doll shoe too carefully!
